Paralegals Get Refresher Training

Training workshops for paralegals, organised by the Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA)  are to continue throughout the country this year so that paralegals are able to provide sound legal advice to communities, according to Federation coordinator, Ms. Paballo Kotela.

The workshops will re-train and refresh the paralegals’ knowledge with such topics as the role of paralegals in the community, understanding women's rights, provisions of the Sexual Offences Act, children rights and the Married Equality Bill.

They are meant for paralegals, traditional chiefs, members of local government authorities, village health workers, youth groups, street vendors and farmers, Ms. Kotela said.
