| PM URGES COMMUNITY TO PROTECT TOURISTS | |

– The Prime Minister Mr.
Pakalitha Mosisili has urged Ha Kome community in Berea to provide security
for tourists visiting their area. He was officially opening the Kome Visitor and Craft Center in Berea on Friday and has also encouraged the community to provide high quality services and clear information about the area as that would inspire tourists to visit the place regularly, thus contributing to economic growth. The Prime Minister has appealed to people to respect tourists, protect them and their property, saying that the center is in line with the government's policy of creating conducive environment for job creation. Minister of Tourism, Environment and Culture Ms. Lebohang Ntsinyi said the center aims at encouraging production of various handicrafts of high quality, creation of self-employment opportunities and imparting of entrepreneurial skills to the local communities. Ms. Ntsinyi added that the intention of her ministry is to construct several centers in the areas with tourism potential, and has she therefore thanked Ha Kome community with its support during the construction of the center. |
