NEW POST OFFICES TO BE CONSTRUCTED
Preparations are underway for new post offices to be constructed in Teyateyaneng and Leribe, before the end of the year.

In an interview, the Senior Postmaster in Maseru, Mr Motlatsi Bosman, said the buildings to be constructed in the two districts, would comprise postbanks, and a multitude of postal boxes.

He however indicated that, the construction work of the new post office building in Leribe, would take precedence over the one to be constructed in Teyateyaneng.

Mr Bosman was however reluctant to disclose, as to how much money has been allocated for the construction works of the two post offices.

He said that the post office department, has fetched a lobby box containing 800 satellite postal boxes for the Berea district, as a contingency plan, to meet a high demand of postal boxes.

”We got the lobby box worth half a million Maluti for free from our neighbour South Africa in May this year, although we were determined to pay for it,” he mentioned.

He said that upon completion of the new post office building in Teyateyaneng, the 800 postal boxes on the lobby box would be dismantled and installed on the new building which would be large enough to accommodate as many postal boxes as possible.

Meanwhile, heads of departments have resolved to assist the Teyateyaneng post office in effecting payments of pensions to the aged, in an effort to deliver efficient services.
