|
The M146 200 allocated for
Mphelebeko Community Council will be used for construction of pit latrines
and solid waste tanks at Mants'onyane, the Council Secretary Mrs Mathe
Motheselane has announced. In an interview with LENA, following the Ministry of local Government’s allocation of funds to ten District Councils in the country, . Mrs. Motheselane told LENA that her council has decided to construct pit latrines and solid waste tanks in this area as Mants'onyane and other villages surrounding it have no toilets and waste tanks. She expressed concern over the filthiness in the area, saying construction of the toilets and waste tanks would address the situation as well as to promote a clean and healthy environment that will attract tourists. She further mentioned that the initiative is also intended to improve good health amongst the communities in the area, reiterating that this would also encourage the Mants'onyane community and visitors to keep the area clean. Mants'onyane is the semi urban area in the Thaba-Tseka district and it also serves as the bus station for local commuters and those in the Lesobeng area as well as for those travelling to Thaba-Tseka, Bokong, Sehong-hong, Linakeng and Linakaneng areas. |
