Maseru,
June 03 - A 28 year old Mosotho man Phole Thaba of Mahobong in the
Leribe district has won a dream trip to the 2006 Germany soccer world cup
which kicks off on Friday to July 09 this year.
Marotholi Beverages through its Coca Cola product announced the winner at
the draw that was conducted at Mafafa Supermarket grounds in Maseru last
Friday.
Mr. Thaba who is married with a three year old daughter said he was very
happy to be the winner, however, he said he was saddened by the fact that he
would not be able to go to Germany in the company of his wife due to reasons
he could not want to disclose.
Mr. Thaba who works for Security Lesotho company, said he has decided to
take his friend with him as other relatives did not have valid passports.
He declared his unlimited love of football, adding that he would like to
watch his favourite team Brazil play in the World cup, the opportunity he
had never dreamt of before.
Furthermore he thanked Coca Cola for organising the competition to give
Basotho an opportunity to watch the soccer world cup, saying he is looking
forward to boarding a plane for the first time ever in his life.
'May Coca Cola organise more competitions to allow Basotho to win prizes
like this one in future,' he added.
On the other hand, Coca Cola Sales Coordinator Mrs. Mpho Molapo
congratulated the winners, saying the competition was a success as many
entrants were received since it was kick-started three months ago.
She said the idea was to give Basotho a chance to go to the World Cup as the
Co-sponsors of the world event.
Mrs. Molapo therefore urged Basotho to always enter Coca Cola competitions
in to stand an opportunity to win prizes such as this one and many more.
Mr. Thaba and his partner's trip to Germany is worth M110 000.00 that
includes return air tickets for two, accommodation and meals, ticket to
watch the last five matches plus pocket money.
