| ‘MOKOSE URGES FOR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN SOIL CONSERVATION | |

– The Minister of Forestry and
Land Reclamation, Mr. Ralechate ‘Mokose has called for full involvement of
the community in soil conservation activities as an investment towards
poverty reduction. At the launch of Mekaling catchment, the Minister said the government has allocated M8 Million for conservation works in four catchments, over M2 million of which will be spent at Mekaling catchment in Mohale’s Hoek. He said the other money will be spent at Tsoaing, Boleka and Thaba-Bosiu catchments, adding that the allocation is intended to address the problem of land degradation by involving the community in soil and water conservation activities in their respective areas for a year. |
