The late King
Moshoeshoe II and Queen ‘M’a Mohato had the their statues unveiled by
surviving sons King Letsie II and Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso and their
wives at a ceremony held at Ha Noha, Mants’onyane and at Auray Mission on
January 15.
King
Letsie III and Prince Seeiso Bereng Seeiso unveiled the monument of the late
Queen Mother 'Mamohato Bereng Seeiso while Queen 'Masenate and Chieftainess
'Mabereng Seeiso unveiled the late Moshoeshoe II’s at Ha Noha.
Archbishop Bernard Mohlalisi of the Roman Catholic Church led a prayer
service at the Auray mission.
The monument at Ha Noha marked 10 years of the death of the late Moshoeshoe
II, who died in January 1996 while the one at Auray commemorates the late
Queen Mother who died while attending a retreat at the mission in September
2003.
The unveiling ceremony was graced by the presence of members of the Royal
family, King of Bafokeng from Rustenburg, Cabinet Ministers, members of the
Diplomatic Corps and other guests from South Africa, such as retired
Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu; South African Minister of Public Works and
Transport Mr. Jeff Radebe and South African mining magnate Patrice Motsepe.
