LOCAL BOXING TEAM CONFIDENT PRIOR TO ZONE SIX GAMES
Maseru, June 21 - Local boxing team is bubbling with confidence ahead of the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa (SCSA) Zone Six Youth championship scheduled for Windhoek, Namibia starting on Monday, June 26 to July 05 this year.

In an interview, the coach, Mr. Samuel Lebotsa said after undergoing an intensive training which ended with a tournament in Botswana last week, they are more than ready to compete in the youth championship.

'We have gained enough exposure and judging by our performance in Botswana I have confidence in the athletes that they will bring some medals home,' he boasted.

He said the likes of Peter Moriee and Lire Tsie are hot favourites and future prospects of the country, and that their future looks bright and could feature well in the forth-coming African Youth Championship and Olympic Games.

Mr. Lebotsa said if they could get financial support, he could build a formidable boxing team as there are many up-and-coming young stars, who, if given a chance, are capable of going far in boxing career.

Local boxing youth team won four out of eight bouts against their Botswana counterparts and it is alleged they could have won, had it not due to bias officiating by Botswana referees.
