LEHATA MEETS MPHARANE COMMUNITY
	Mohale’s Hoek – The Minister in the Prime Minister’s office, Mr. Ramootsi Lehata will address Mpharane community on the strategies to utilize food aid for food production at a gathering to be held at Mpharane this Friday. In an interview, the District Administration Manager, Mr. Sechaba Mojau said the purpose of the meeting is to discuss with the community, strategies to be put in place to address the problem of hunger and food insecurity. He said the meeting will focus on the areas of food production, together with simple and affordable methods of irrigation, as well as use of joint oxen span, where it is not easy to access farming implements. Mr. Mojau stated that the meeting is a follow-up of a gathering held at Qhalasi in February, where the Minister briefed community leaders about the new direction to be taken to combat hunger, such as to encourage the community to work in partnership to produce food. Expected at the meeting are officials of the Disaster Management Authority, a Member of Parliament for Mpharane, members of Thaba-Mokhele community council, District Administrator and the public.
