LRCS TO ATTEND CONFERENCE IN GENEVA
  Maseru June 16 - The Lesotho Red Cross Society (LRCS) will participate at the 29th International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent to be held in Geneva from June 20 to 21.

The Society's Information Dissemination and Fund-raising Coordinator Ms. Tokoloho Khuts'oane said the objective of the conference is to adopt an additional distinctive emblem that was proposed during a similar conference last year.

She said participants will also decide upon the proposed name of 'Red Crystal' for a distinctive emblem, adding that it was suggested consequently to the Geneva Conventions of August 12 in 1949.

Ms. Khuts'oane indicated that the conference will also create a framework for the recognition and admission of the Palestinian Red Crescent society.

The conference will be attended by societies from 183 countries around the world.

LRCS will be represented by its president Mrs.'Makabelo Mosothoane.
