LNFOD TO
PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH CONFERENCE |
Research
and development will be among the key issues to be discussed
at a two day Southern African Federation of Disabled
conference in Durban, South Africa from Thursday next
week.
Lesotho
National Federation Of Disabled (LNFOD) Executive Director
Mr. Molahloa Kalawe said the conference is aimed at
providing SAFOD affiliates with skills on researching for
the development of people with different disabilities.
He said
the conference also prepares for the establishment of a
documentation centre in Harare, Zimbabwe adding that
Zimbabwe is the headquarters of SAFOD.
The
centre will play a significant role in providing the
national federations with information on the needs of
disabled persons and how they can be assisted.
Kalawe
said the major challenge facing the visually impaired
persons in Lesotho is that the braille equipment is so
limited that they are not able to improve their literacy. He
hopes that the centre will cater them with such
equipment.
