The

allay fears concerning the presence of their Botswana
counterparts in the country.
Speaking
in an interview, the LDF Public Affairs Relations Officer,
Second Lieutenant Matheanzima Taneso assured the public that
the Botswana Defense Force (BDF) Officers have come into the
country for training purposes only and nothing else.
He said
the training, which is part of the LDF and BDF exchange
programmes, is on driving whereby participants will be
equipped with necessary skills on how to drive on highlands
routes.
He added
that the training is a follow-up to the first, which was
also held here in Lesotho in 2004.
The LDF Public Affairs Relations Officer further, mentioned
that in 2005 the LDF Officers also went to Botswana to train
how to drive on desserts adding that these trainings are
intended to enable the Military Officers to intervene during
emergency and disaster relief services in the entire
South African Development Community (SADC) region.
