JUDGEMENT ON MOKHESENG'S CASE IN AUGUST

Maseru, June 02 - Judgement in a case in which five men and a woman are charged with murder of former regional manager of Precious Garments factory, Mr. Peter Mokheseng, has been scheduled for August 29 and 30.

When postponing the case on Friday, Justice 'Maseshophe Hlajoane emphasized need for the accused persons to know their fate soon on whether they are acquitted or convicted.

She stated that it is important that the case comes to an end as it has been dealt with for a relatively long time, since it started in 2004.

The case was postponed after both the crown and defence counsels addressed the court in which the crown's submission was that the accused persons should be found guilty as charged.

On the other hand, the defence counsels asked the court to find the accused not guilty to the charge on grounds that the crown did not make out their case beyond reasonable doubt.

Lesaoana Molomo, Thabiso Mothobi, Bokang Molongoane, Kutoane Kori, Molai Mosoaboli and Nokoli Hloloane are accused of allegedly killing Mr. Mokheseng in March 2004 at Qoaling near his home.

The crown is represented by Ms. Lindiwe Maqutu, Mr. Mots'ei Tlali and Ms. Leonia Makoko, while the defence team is composed of Advocates Hae Phoofolo, Thulo Hoeane and Molefi Ntlhoki
