FIFA Wants LEFA to Explain Hey's Dismissal

Tony Hey, former national soccer coach, seems to have convinced FIFA that he has a case against the Lesotho Football Association following his dismissal by the latter in 2005. The Federation of International Football Association has sent a letter to the local soccer administrating body asking it to explain Hey’s dismissal.

Hey’s agents maintain their client was dismissed unfairly and was never absent without authorisation as LEFA claims. The Association always knew Hey’s whereabouts at all times. Hey also claims M2.4 million in compensation.

LEFA terminated Tony Hey's contract as Likuena's coach last year citing several instances of absenteeism from work without permission and failure by the coach to abide
by contractual agreement.

LEFA spokesperson, Thabo Pule said the executive committee of LEFA will meet next
Tuesday, January 31, to discuss the contents of the FIFA letter and decide on the next step to be taken.

The Tony Hey case has held up the appointment of a new national coach with Seepheephe 'Mochine' Matete acting as interim coach.
