The Examinations Council of Lesotho released the 2005 Junior Certificate Examination Results on January 18. 

According to ECOL fewer candidates passed this year’s examination (10 630) that last year (10 842). Last year’s candidates were of a better quality. About 14 737 candidates were registered for the 2005 examination. 

A drop in performance in individual subjects, especially in core subjects such as English, Sesotho, Mathematics and Science could also be observed.
