The District Administrator Maseru, Mrs. Ntharetso Lieta has died, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Local Government.  

In a brief statement on Radio Lesotho on February 28, Minister Dr Pontšo Sekatle said she would announce further arrangements later. 

Mrs. Lieta appointment was the result of a system of local authorities in which a new decentralised local government system headed by District Administrators (DAs), with Chief Executive Officers as their second in command, was introduced. The new system came into being on April 29 2005.
