Crude methods Used to Try Escape from Jail
 

Three awaiting trial prisoners have been found guilty of attempted escape from the Quthing prison. They were sentenced to two years imprisonment without the option of a fine.

The men are said to have tried to cut the roof of the prison with a knife pilfered from the kitchen. Lehlohonolo Tšolo (20) from Upper Thamae in Maseru, Rethabile Moji (27) from Ha-Koali in Quthing and Mohapeloa Shao (28) from Welkom in Quthing are said to have attempted the break out by standing on each other’s shoulders to try reach the roof of the prison on June 21, last year.

Tšolo and Mohapeloa Shao were awaiting trial on four charges of armed robbery while Rethabile Moji was awaiting trial for rape.
