CHIEFS/COMMUNITY COUNCILORS AND HEADMEN TO ATTEND W/SHOP
	Community Councilors, Gazetted chiefs and headmen in Qacha’s nek will attend a two-day training workshop on good working relations at the function to be held at the Community hall starting from Wednesday. Speaking in an interview, the District Council Secretary (DCS) Mr. Lekhotla Ts’eane said that the workshop which is the first of its kind to be held since the establishment of local government structures, will equip chiefs and councilors with skills and information that would help them improve their working relations. Mr. Ts’eane said that some of the chiefs and councilors have for a long time been fighting over the power to control land and rangelands hence the initiative to help them understand their role and responsibilities over such matters. He noted that chiefs and councilors as leaders play a vital role in enhancing good governance in their areas, hence they should be equipped with skills and information to help them understand each others' role and responsibility. Participants at the workshop will be drawn from Letloepe, Rats’oleli, Thaba-Khubelu and ‘Maseepho Community Councils. It would be facilitated by officials from the Ministry of Local Government and the District Council Secretaries. Ends LENA/LK/nm
