BNP Offices Burgled

Mojalefa Ntjelepa, a 24 year-old man of Ha-Mabote, Maseru, broke into the offices of the Basotho National Party (BNP) in the city and instead of getting away with his loot, fell asleep until he was discovered by the security details some hours later.

This emerged in the trial of Ntjelepa in the Maseru Magistrate’s Court on January 4, where he is being charged with house-breaking and theft.

Testifying, a worker at the BNP office, Mr. Hareeng Mot
šepa, said on January 1 at around 01:00hours he found two windows broken and called a security guard on duty at nearby premises. The security guard assisted him in getting into the building through one of the broken windows where he found the accused sleeping in one of the rooms.

He crept back without disturbing the accused and went to call the police who arrested the accused.

In the morning, it was discovered that some property and money were missing. These included M3000.00 and some 1 000 party membership cards as well as some stationery.

The case is before Magistrate Nthabiseng Moopisa and prosecuted by Mr. Lejone Jonathan
