ANTI-CRIME PREVENTION COMMITTEE RECIEVE WHISTLES

Botha-Bothe -- Anti-crime committees around the 'Moteng area received 60 whistles, following the Community Safety and Protection Projects (CSPP) workshops held in their areas as part of crime prevention strategies at a crime prevention public gathering held at Phelandaba on Thursday last week.

Speaking at the occasion, Senior Superintendent (Snr/Supt) Janki Hlaahla said the objective of distributing the whistles is to provide members of the anti-crime committees with equipment that they would use in alerting other members when there is a need to attend to criminal activities both at night and during the day.

Snr/Supt Hlaahla said all members have been given the whistles so that they could be able to take action quickly, to prevent crime from taking place.

He said the whistles will serve to strengthen what they have been trained on during the CSPP workshops.

Speaking at the gathering, one the members, Mr. Thato Molise thanked the police for giving them the whistles, saying that they will help them to carry out their duties efficiently.

Mr. Molise appealed to all people who received the whistles to use them appropriately as intended.

The public gathering also served to reprimand the killing of a 25 year old boy during Easter holidays.
