U-17 GAMES FATE IN MAPUTO |
Lesotho
National Olympic Committee (LNOC) President Mrs. 'Matlohang
Ramoqopo-Moiloa will attend the Confederation of Southern
Africa National Olympic Committees (COSANOC) in Maputo,
Mozambique on Friday.
According to LNOC Public Relations Officer, Mr. Manyathela
Kheleli Mrs. Ramoqopo-Moiloa will be accompanied by
committee presidents from Swaziland and Namibia where they
will meet representatives of the Supreme Council for Sports
in Africa (SCSA).
He said
the agenda will focus on the aborted Association of National
Olympic Committee for Africa (ANOCA) Zone VI Games. The
games were supposed to be staged in Maseru last October but
were called off at the eleventh hour due lack of
consultations between COSANOC AND SCSA.
Mr.
Kheleli said the Maseru meeting resolved to postpone the
Games pending further consultations.
Tomorrow's meeting in Maputo will decide the fate of this
ANOCA under 17 Games in order to avoid clash of
interests between governments and COSANOC in future.
