AFRICAN COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS VISITS LESOTHO
	The African Charter on Human and People's Rights maps out the mandate of the commission which aims to promote and protect human rights and to interpret provisions of the Charter. This was said by a member of the African Commission on Human and Peoples rights, Commissioner Sanji Monageng at the Press Conference held at Foreign Affairs premises on Thursday. The Commissioner says the aim of her visit is to popularize the African Commission and the African Charter, and to gather information from government authorities and civil society about their functions, particularly  as they relate to the promotion and protection of human rights. She mentioned that Lesotho is working hard towards the protecting human rights, since it has established projects on popularizing human rights within police offices, Justice and organisations such as Federation of Women Lawyers. Commissioner Monageng encouraged the Non Governmental Organizations (NGO's) and other Ministries to promote awareness of human rights in the country.
