M2.24 BILLION
FOR HEALTH AND SOCIAL PROGRAMMES |
Maseru---Government needs M2.24 billion for the health
and social sector in the next five years. The bulk of
this money should go towards HIV/AIDS programmes and the
prevention of TB. This was tabled by Health and Social
Welfare Principal Secretary Mr Teleko Ramots'oari before the
ninth donor round table conference today.
The
five-day conference was officially opened by the Prime
Minister at the Convention Centre yesterday.
Speaking at the same function, Mrs Catherine O'Farell of the
International Finance Corporation said a new hospital will
soon be built to replace Queen Elizabeth II Hospital
at a cost of M323 million.
The new
hospital will be built at Bots'abelo.
