Zambia to Lead COSAFA Group C

Zambia will join Zimbabwe, defending champions Angola and Group A winners South Africa in the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Castle Cup final in August after winning the Group C leg of the tournament over the June 11 and 12 weekend.

The host team began its fight towards the final by beating Swaziland 3 – 0 of the first day of the Group C mini tournament whilst Malawi came from behind to beat Lesotho 2-1.

The Group’s final on Sunday was a clash between Zambia and Malawi in which South African based Collins Mbesuma was the two-goal hero as Zambia staged a dramatic recovery to beat Malawi 2-1 in Lusaka to ensure further progress in the Cup.

In the game between Lesotho and Malawi, Refiloe Potse's spot kick in the 46th minute gave the home boys the lead though this was cancelled seven minutes later.
