WHO Global Director of HIV/AIDS Visits Lesotho
 

The World Health Organization Global Director of HIV/AIDS, Dr. Jim Kim will visit Lesotho from September 18 to 21, 2005, a statement from the Organisation has said. 

Dr. Kim will review progress made on the roll-out programme on Anti-Retrovirals (ARVs) in Lesotho, including progress made in scaling up prevention, treatment and care for people living with HIV and AIDS at national and district level.

He will meet with among others, the Minister of Health and senior staff, the UN country team, the National AIDS Secretariat, the newly established Lesotho Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS as well as key community members. He will also tour ARV centres at Queen II and Botha-Bothe hospitals.

Lesotho aims at providing treatment to 28, 000 people by the end of 2005.
