WASA Warns of a Looming Water Crisis

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has warned of a looming water crisis in the country and appealed for a more conservative use.

WASA public relations officer Mr. Khotso Letsatsi announced a ban on the watering of gardens, lawns and washing of vehicles by hose pipe in view of the prevailing drought situation in the country.

Mr. Letsatsi said sources, such as the Mohokare River, have dried up and that the Maqalika Dam, on which the City depends, will last between 30 and 35 days at current usage if there is no rainfall soon.

The whole country is affected except Mokhotlong, he announced.
