Two Locals Among Winners in Scenarios from Africa Competition

Two Lesotho youth are among thirty from 16 African countries who have won prizes in an HIV/AIDS drama story contest organized and sponsored by Africa Scenarios.

The two girls from Mohale's Hoek are Lemohang Tjabaka and Limpho Liboke.

Scenarios from Africa is a community mobilization, education and media project about HIV/AIDS carried with and for young people. It gives children and young adults an opportunity to educate themselves and others about HIV/AIDS by inviting them to participate in production of series of short fiction films.

Associate Peace Corps Director, Ms Lisa Jordan, said her office was asked to promote the contest that attracted 22 800 entries. Each of the two local winners will receive a certificate, a medal, videotape of the Scenarios from Africa short movies and prize monies.

The project began in 1997 as Scenarios from the Sahel and was in 2002, expanded geographically to become Scenarios from Africa.
