Traditional
healers from three regions of the Thaba Tseka district are to discuss
Tuberculosis management at a one week workshop to be held at the Matebeng
community hall from October 24.
TB coordinator at the St. Peters Health Centre, Mrs. 'Mamakhala Molatoli
said community health workers and community councillors will join the
“lingaka” from Matebeng, Mohlanapeng and Khokhoba at the workshop.
The training is intended to help participants identify TB signs and teach
them care skills for the infected, as part of improving the management of
this disease in the villages. It is also intended to help participants to
ensure that TB patients take their treatment as expected to avoid
re-infection.
The training is funded by the Global Fund.
