Dr Thahane Announces a New Look Finance Ministry
 

The Ministry of Finance and Development Training has announced changes to its management team, which are meant among other things to encourage private sector leadership of the country's growth and development.

Dr Timothy Thahane announced at a press briefing on August 29 the redeployment of five senior officials to new positions within the Ministry. Mr Mosito Khethisa has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive -Private Sector and Financial Affairs, a newly created position, while Mrs Motena Ts'olo has been appointed as the Chief Executive Economic - Policy, responsible for all aspects of microeconomic policy and management.

Mrs Likonelo Hlasoa has been appointed as the Chief Executive - Development Planning, managing international corporate projects and development planning. Mr Thabo Nyepetsi has been appointed Budget Controller with responsibilities that include the national budget and implementation of policies. Ms Lineo Khechane has been appointed  Chief Executive - Support Services leading the Human Resources and general administration of the Ministry.

The Ministry plays a prominent role in governance and fiscal management performance of the country and therefore needs to enhance its level and capacity in the provision of services. It as embarked on a restructuring process, expected to take six months.

The appointment take effect from September 1, the Minister said.
