New SADC Executive Secretary Visits Lesotho
 

Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Mr. Tomaz Augosto Salamao will visit Lesotho for two days from December 12 to 13, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

Mr. Salamao became SADC Executive Secretary on September 1 this year and has been visiting member states to familiarize himself with country issues, including how Lesotho is putting into operation the Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP).

Mr. Salamao is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili, the Minister of Finance, other cabinet ministers and some representatives of the private sector and civil society.

A citizen of the Republic of Mozambique and an economist by profession, Mr. Salamao succeeds Dr Prega Ramsamy whose term ended in August.

He is a former Minister of Planning and Finance and Minister of Transport and Communications in Mozambique.
