The Lesotho Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) will host delegates from 13 Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries taking part in the eighth annual general meeting of the Electoral Commissions Forum (ECF), which will be held in Maseru, Lesotho, from September 26 to 30.

Chairman of the local chapter, who is also president of ECF, Mr. Leshele Thoahlane said the Forum wanted to continue to “promote democracy through the empowering of women."

The Forum will also look at financial as well as country reports, and debate the integration of the ECF into SADC structures.

The Prime Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili is expected to officially open the meeting.
