Organisations overseeing elections in the SADC region will meet to review progress made thus far and to plan the way forward at a conference to be held in Maseru from September 25 to 30, hosts the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), have announced. 

IEC Operations Officer, Mr. Lillo Mokoatle said the conference will feature presentations on topics such as democracy and development and; challenges of attaining a gender balanced democracy. 

The conference will be attended by delegates from commissions and other electoral bodies in the 14 SADC countries. It will be officially opened by the Prime Minister, Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili, the IEC said.
