The Blue
Cross Resource Centre, a coordinating office for five Blue Cross partners in
the Southern African Development Community, will be officially launched by
the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Monyane Moleleki on October 16.
Director of the BCRC, Ms. Motšeoa Senyane, said the centre aims at working
at ensuring increased quality of life for people in Southern Africa by
reducing alcohol and drug related problems.
Alongside the launch will be a conference in which participants will be
expected to discuss ways to effectively treat alcohol and drug abuse among
both adults and the youth.
Participants at the conference will be from Blue Cross centres from
countries such as Lesotho, Namibia, Norway and Switzerland.
The Maseru Centre has been funded by the Norwegian Government through Blue
Cross Norway.
