Twenty one Commonwealth countries are to meet in Lesotho for a one week Regional Youth Advisory Board Meeting starting from October 16 at the 'Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru, the Minister of Gender and Youth, Sport and Recreation, Mrs. 'Mathabiso Lepono, announced on September 7.

The meeting will decide on the policies and programmes for the African region; discuss the Regional Director’s report, dealing with issues that affect youth in Africa as well as to discuss, in depth, the plan of action for Africa. It will also advise the concerned Ministers on youth related issues.

The meeting will be preceded by a two day Regional Youth Caucus where invite representatives of youth organisations in the country will be invited to give them an opportunity to share ideas and problems encountered by their colleagues from the different countries.

A similar meeting was held in Cyprus in October 2002.
