| Campaign to Reduce Walking Distance to Schools | |
|
Four new primary schools are to be established at Marakabei, Rehauhetsoe, ‘Manapo Potomane and Lejoe-le-Tseka in the Botha Bothe district at the beginning of 2006. The schools, to be administered by Government, will start operating on schools opening day, January 23, according to district education officer, Mrs. ‘Malijane Selikane. The schools will help reduce walking distances by pupils whose homes are far from such facilities, she said. The district education office is in the process of helping parents to choose management committees for the schools. Each school management committee is made up of eight people, including the principal, a teacher, a chief, three parents’ representatives and two representing government chosen by the District Administrator, Mrs. Selikane said. 08 December 2005 |
