New Member of Parliament for Qalo Constituency No.4, Mrs. 'Makhaketla Leipa was sworn in by Deputy Speaker Mr. Sephiri Motanyane on October 20.

Representing the Lesotho Congress for Democracy, Mrs. Leipa won the recent bi-elections at Qalo constituency to succeed the late Mr. Mopshatla Mabitle.

Welcoming the new Member, Deputy Speaker Motanyane asked her to acquaint herself with the country's constitution as well as rules and regulations controlling the House as these will make her job easier.

She should also visit her constituency frequently so that she knows and is able to address the challenges facing the Constituency.

Mrs. Leipa asked for the support of the Qalo community as it is only through their support that challenges, such as lack of roads and water supply, can be overcome.

She affirmed her commitment to work with Community Councils and the community at large to implement government policies in order to reduce the poverty and hunger facing the Qalo electorate.
