Nomination of candidates for the Qalo constituency by-election started on August 1 and will continue until August 26. The by-election follows the death of Member of Parliament Mr. Mopshatla Mabitle in June this year.

The by-election will be held on October 08, according to District Electoral Officer Mr Thabo Lebaka who also announced that the IEC Presiding Officer in the constituency will lead a nomination court, scheduled for August 26.

All people who wish to contest the by-election are expected to fill in entitlement forms and have proposers and seconders in order to facilitate a smooth nomination process, the Electoral Officer said.
