Prison and Penal Reform Workshop
 

A two day workshop on penal and prison reform began in Maseru today, July 27, according to Lesotho Correctional Services spokesperson, Mr Khang Khang.

Aimed at reforming the correctional services in the country, the workshop will include topics such as prison conditions and the human rights of prisoners; rehabilitation programmes for offenders; reduction of prison overcrowding as well as improving prison health care and protection of prisoners with regard to HIV/AIDS, Mr Khang said.

Facilitators at the workshop will include the Commissioner of Correctional Services, the Ombudsman as well as the Director General of Lesotho Justice Sector Development Programme.
