The football pitch, athletic track, a multi purpose plateau, hall, office and ablution block phase of the Olymp Africa Sports Centre at Lepereng on the outskirts of Maseru will be inaugurated in January.  

Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) Director of Development Mr. Mofihli Makoele said the national chapter had received some M900 000 in assistance from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). 

An IOC delegation is to evaluate this first phase before releasing funds for the remaining phases B, 2 and 3, Mr. Makoele said.

The multi purpose sports centre is intended to afford developing athletes access to sporting facilities.
