seven member Parliamentary Reforms Committee delegation is to visit the
Kenyan Parliament from February 19 as part of the ongoing Lesotho
parliamentary reforms process, according to a statement from the National
Assembly.
Speaker of the House, Ms Ntlhoi Motsamai; vice president of the Senate, Mr Letapata Makhaola; chair of Parliamentary Reforms Committee, Mr Lekhetho Rakuoane; chairpersons of PRC sub-committees, Moeketse Malebo and Morapeli Motaung and; clerks of both Houses of Parliament, Makhabane Maluke and Matlamukele Matete will spend six days studying parliamentary practices and procedures of the Kenyan parliament. This is the first of planned study tours by the Lesotho Parliamentary Reforms Committee. The committee was launched in 2004 to enhance the effectiveness of Parliament to help it play its constitutional role in the national governance system by ensuring that the political, social and economic priorities filter through to the society, the statement said. 18 February 2005 |
