Pan African Parliament to Establish African Court of Justice

The fourth session of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) meeting in Midrand, South Africa, until December 2, has decided to establish the African Court of Justice.

The court will deal with violations of human rights on the continent. African Union member states need to ratify protocols that address human rights issues first.

PAP members say of the 37 countries who have signed for the protocols, only eight have ratified them.
