Prime Minister on an Official Visit to Libya
 

The Prime Minister Mr. Pakalitha Mosisili will lead the country’s delegation at the Fifth Assembly of the African Union, to be held in Sirte, Libya, on July 3, 2005, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The Summit will discuss political, legal social and economic issues facing the Continent as well as review progress since the last mid-term gathering in Abuja, Nigeria in January 2005. 

The session will be preceded by the meetings of the Permanent Representative Committee, made up of ambassadors accredited to the AU and senior officials, from June 28 to 30; the Executive Council, which consists of AU Foreign Ministers, from July 1 to 2 and; the Peace and Security Council at the level of Heads of State and Government, to be held on July 3, 2005. 

Lesotho is a member of the Peace and Security Council of the AU. 

The Prime Minister’s delegation includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Monyane Moleleki; the Senior Private Secretary to the Prime Minister; Mrs. M. Seitlheko; the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Motlatsi Ramafole and other senior government officials. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also announced that after the Summit, the Prime Minister will be on a two day official visit to Libya from July 4 to 5, as a guest of the Prime Minister of Libya. He will be accompanied on this visit by the Minister of Local Government, Dr Pontšo Sekatle and the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Rakoro Phororo.
