Opportunities Open up in Britain, Germany for Makoanyane XI

Several Makoanyane XI players have a chance to go for trials in Britain and Germany with Lesotho's Ambassador in Brussels, Belgium facilitating the players’ video recordings, profiles and curriculum vitae in readiness for the trials.

Announcing this at the end of a 15 kilometre fund raising fun walk for the team, Assistant Minister of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation Mr. Hlonepho Nts'ekhe said international scouts had spied the players at the XIV African Youth championship in Benin early this year.

The fun walk was part of fund-raising events to help Makoanyane XI prepare for the forthcoming Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) tournament to be held in Durban, South Africa in December.

Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) President Advocate Salemane Phafane said a caretaker coach for the senior national team Likuena, will be announced soon while the  search continues for a more full time coach. The position is still to be advertised.

Makoanyane XI coach Seepheephe “Mochine” Matete said many of the under 20 players will be graduating to the under 23 side next year but that he has already scouted new players to fill their place.
