A sports centre, to be known as the Olymp Africa, is to be built at Lepereng, outside Maseru early next month, the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) has announced.

LNOC Secretary General Mr. Mofihli Makoele said Phase 1A of the project is expected to be complete by December this year. The centre will consist of a soccer pitch, track, facility for outdoor games like netball, basketball and volleyball as well as a conference hall, offices and toilets.

The other phases of the M1million International Olympic Committee (IOC) sponsored project will depend on an evaluation, by the IOC, of the success of the initial phase, Mr. Makoele said.
