| New Soccer Season to Kick Off in September | |
|
Delays in the signing of a new contract with premiership soccer sponsors Econet Ezi Cell means the new season will only start a month later than its August date. The Lesotho Football Association (LEFA) has since 2000, adopted the international norm of the season starting in August and ending in May the following year. Premier League Management Committee (PLMC) chairperson Tlholo Letete said due to some 'technicalities', the new season will only be able to start in September after LEFA has signed a contract with the sponsors, Econet Ezi Cell. It is only then that they will be able to announce the monies at stake, he said. The PLMC would like to have as many knockout competitions as possible in the new season to make the league attractive and increase the level of competition. 15 August 2005 |
