New Occupational Health and IR System Launched
 

The former industrial relations and occupational safety and health inspectorates, of the Ministry of Employment and Labour, have been incorporated into an integrated labour inspection system. 

Announcing the launch of the new system, Minister of Employment and Labour, Ms Mpeo Mahase-Moiloa said this signals the Ministry's determination to have an effective labour inspectorate that will encourage and ensure conducive working conditions. It is to ensure that employers, employees and government all fully observe the labour code.

The International Labour Organisation will train 15 inspectors to pioneer implementation of the new system and ensure its effective, the Minister revealed.
