The Lesotho
High Court has ordered the prosecution in the murder trial of a suspected
robber, to make arrangements for a witness to be brought over from Germany.
Justice
Semapo Peete, presiding over the case in which a German diplomat's son was
killed during an attempted armed robbery, said the postponement would allow
for witness Tobias Aldenhoff, who was with the deceased when he was shot, to
travel to Lesotho.
The witness was of great importance as he witnessed the shooting incident at
Malealea on March 17, last year, and could narrate it better than any of the
witnesses who have already testified.
Justice Peete castigated the prosecution for not having called Aldenhoff
earlier, especially when he could give evidence not only on the murder but
also the robbery.
Mr. Aldenhoff is expected to be the 11th and last crown witness, in the case
in which Keketso Lekota is charged with the murder of Sebastian Horsten, at
Malealea in the Mafeteng district, on March 17, last year.
The accused is also charged with armed robbery and Contravention of the
Internal Security Act number 17, of 1996 as amended.
The case is prosecuted by Mr. Peter Lenono, assisted by Ms Lonea Makoko.
Advocate Hae Phoofolo represents the accused.
