More Cuban Doctors to Help Out
A team of 18 Cuban doctors is expected in the country in the second week of February to help reduce the shortage of medical experts, acting Director General of Health Services, Dr Tlhabi Moorosi announced during a recent trip to the Machabeng hospital in Qacha's Nek.

Seven of these doctors, including a surgeon, gynaecologist; pediatrician; anesthetist and three general practitioners, will be posted to Machabeng while the rest will be deployed in hospitals throughout the country.

The team will be in Lesotho on a two year contract and have been handpicked because of their exposure to the English language. The doctors had also had training in diseases peculiar to the region, Dr. Moorosi said.

The visit to the Machabeng hospital was to assure the team leader of the Cuban Medical Brigade, Dr Lazaro Fonseca that the doctors would be availed of the necessary equipment and accommodation.
