The five men and a woman accused of the murder
of former Precious Garments' Regional Manager, Mr. Peter Mokheseng, have a
case to answer, the High Court ruled.
Dismissing an application for the discharge of
four of the accused; Lesaoana Molomo, Thabiso Mothobi, Molai Mosoaboli, and
'Nokoli Hloloane, Justice 'M'aseshophe Hlajoane, announced that reasons for
dismissing the application would follow in due course.
Advocates Molefi Ntlhoki and Thulo Hoeane, had applied for discharge of the
accused, arguing that the Crown had failed to make a prima-facie case
against them.
The defence counsels said it was not enough for crown witnesses to have said
the accused uttered statements that showed that the accused knew something
about the death of Mokheseng. They should have shown the role that each of
them played in the killing of the deceased.
Lesaoana Molomo, Thabiso Mothobi, Bokang Molongoana, Kutoane Kori, Molai
Mosoaboli, and Nokoli Hloloane, are charged with the murder of Mokheseng, at
Qoaling on March 21, last year.
All sides involved in the case are to meet on December 19 to decide on new
dates on which the case will proceed.
