Mojabeng Senekale Represents Lesotho at Children's Conference

Twelve year old Mojabeng Senekale of Sophia English Medium Primary School in Botha-Bothe will represent the country’s children at the second World Congress on Children's Rights, to be held in Peru from November 21 to 25.

Accompanied by Executive Director of the Non-governmental Organisation Coalition (NGOC) on the rights of children Mrs. Phomolo Mohapeloa, Mojabeng's task in this congress will be to present the challenges and problems encountered by children in Lesotho.

According to NGOC's Project Researcher Ms Ntšeliseng Mohase, the congress will focus on children and adolescents' citizenship, their rights and development. Representatives will have the opportunity to exchange experiences which could offer guidelines for interventions contributing to the fulfilment of children's rights.

Ms Senekale was nominated by others her age during the Lesotho National Consultative Conference on Violence Against Children held in May this year. The nominations were based on, among others, self-confidence and expression.
